Abby Brooks (PM)
The 2026 UCHSSoftball.com's Newcomer of the Year is Piedmont’s Abby Brooks. Abby hit .394 for the Panthers with 37 hits and scored 27 runs. Drove in 31 RBI. Led Union Co. with 6 HRs along with 2 triples. Went 3-for-4 with a career high 5 RBI in a 12-0 win over Cuthbertson. Went 1-for-4 with 3 RBI in playoff win over Central Cabarrus. Went 8-for-16 with 12 RBI in 4 wins over Charlotte Catholic in 2026. Went 1-for-3 vs. Weddington with a HR. Hit 2-run HR win over Cuthbertson. Had 4 hits with 4 RBI in win over Cuthbertson. Drove in 2+ runs in 9 games. Had a .889 fielding % as a freshman. Ms. Brooks was named 1st Team All-UCHSSoftball.com and All-SCC as a freshman. Helped lead Piedmont to a 20-7 record and into the Elite-8 of the state playoffs. Congrats Abby!
